Peter was born Preston, Lancashire, UK, in 1945.
He studied Fine Art at Grimsby School of Art, Lincolnshire and Newport College of Art, Monmouthshire before gaining a teaching qualification in Cardiff, Wales.
Since 1977 he has worked as a painter and sculptor exhibiting in the UK, Germany, France, Holland and Malta, and has works in private collections throughout Europe, Australia and USA.
He lives and works in Rougon in Alpes de Haute Provence, France, where works are exhibited in his studio and exhibition space located in the Grande Rue.
“Creating something is like starting a journey in an unknown place without a map or compass. The objects created become the milestones or ‘you are here’ reference points – creating a personal map in retrospect.
I have always worked in series, sometimes my themes running parallel sometimes not seemingly connected. At present I am concerned with chaos from order, order from chaos. Spontaneity is the key to the endlessly exciting process of creativity.”
